A Bristol man was found guilty last week of sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
The trial held on Jan. 9, in the Superior Court of New Britain, was presided over by the Honorable Chris Pelosi. Evidence introduced during the trial showed that Alex Cross, a 29-year-old Bristol resident, sexually assaulted the victim repeatedly when she was between the ages of 7 and 9 years old.
The victim, now 15, testified during the trial.
“The strength shown by the survivor throughout this process was incredible,” said Senior Assistant State’s Attorney David Clifton. “I wish her well in her continued healing and am thankful for any impact that our criminal justice system will have in that process.”
Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Clifton prosecuted the case with assistance from Inspector Edward Apicella.
Cross will be sentenced on April 3, in in New Britain Superior Court.
